I'm meeting my pilot at 2.30am tomorrow morning and will be starting at 3.30am! The link to follow me tomorrow is here. There will be some twitter updates during the day also.
Crew busy packing, Mick busy cooking (again!) and I'm busy reading trashy magazines and getting ready to eat again. Very excited!
What an amazing achievment, its was obviously not easy on the home stretch seeing which way you ended up being taken, but you did it, all that work was worth it and you should be really proud of yourself. Hope to see you soon, happy recovery Vicky :)
Hi there! I'm training to swim the English Channel in August 2010. This blog is to keep you informed of my progress and adventures along the way.
I'm swimming in aid of Barretstown, a magical castle in the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland, where children from over 22 countries with cancer and other serious illnesses go for some serious fun. You can visit my online charity donation page by clicking here. We're trying to raise as much as possible, and any donations are welcome and greatly appreciated. You can be assured that all transactions are secure.
I'm married, and between myself and my husband, we have a mob of five monsters in tow, ranging from 8-19. We all love the water and since I decided (or should I say, got their permission!) to take on this challenge, I've found that they are all extremely enthusiastic in their support, and that their own swimming is by no means suffering either! It's early days but so far so good. I work full time so am trying to find a happy balance between this, family and training. Wish me luck!!
hey, hey, hey! I see you are well on your way to Gris-Nez (current Spot #50) ... best wishes and swim like the fishes ... mike
